My Heart For you

A beautiful friend of mine has inspiried me to begin writing letters to Owen. I did this at least 2-3 times a month while I was pregnant, I filled the letters with my hopes and fears of being pregnant and becoming a mother to him, but I realized, with the exception of just after he was born, I have not written him any since he was two weeks old. So I would like to begin doing so in hopes that he finds them a sweet token of my love for him throughout his life, possibly reflecting on them when he's older, reminding him why I love him so so much or possibly when he and his lovely wife, God willing someday have a beautiful child of their own.


My precious baby boy Owen... You are just over 7 Months old and I find it difficult to find the words to explain just how much you mean to me and how much you have changed my life in awesome ways since you arrived. You have showed me what it looks like to find EVERYTHING in the world exciting and new; this is so refreshing to me because as I seem to get older somehow have lost this. I used to be so impressed, much easier than most anyway, by anything new I encountered and I love this about you as you are exploring everything we see.

You do so many cute things it's hard to pick just a few but one thing I love that you do is when you accomplish something new you look up at dad & I to check if we saw and when you realize we were watching you the whole time you tilt your head ever so slighty to one side and smile...like you're saying to us "yay, you think I'm so cute and I'm sooo glad you were here to see me do that." It truly makes our heart melt.

Another favorite thing you do is say "da-da" all the time. This started at about 6 1/2 months. Your dad and I were sitting on the couch and you were sitting on his lap and just turned to your dad and out of no were "da-da......daddy" it was amazing. We looked at each other completely in awe of you. Shocked to hear real words come out of your month. It was the most beautiful sound we had ever and for the past three weeks you have been saying "da-da" non stop. It's totally awesome!! A few days ago you and I were on a drive to neici & papa's house and you were in the back saying "da-da" over and over again. I began saying "momma-momma"(just as I have since you began saying da-da), you and I were going back and forth; you saying da-da, me saying momma-momma. But you could not be tricked, you have not yet said it but I can not wait for the day; it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

Well my beautiful boy, you just woke up from a nap here next to me so it is time for me to give you all the love you crave & deserve. I love you my perfect child and thank you for coming into my life to show me how to be a mother to you.
